Grayslake Wrestling Club
Our program focuses on skill development, discipline, character building and self-esteem. The GWC coaches bring experience, talent and passion to the mat at every practice and tournament, and are dedicated to bringing your youth athlete to the next level.

We are open to all boys and girls ages 4-14. No prior experience necessary!

Divisions
Tot: Ages 6 and younger (Born 1/1/2018 & after)
Bantam: Ages 6, 7, & 8 (Born between 1/1/2016 & 12/31/2018)
Intermediate: Ages 8, 9, & 10 (Born between 1/1/2014 & 12/31/2014)
Novice: Ages 10, 11, & 12 (Born between 1/1/2012 & 12/31/2014)
Senior: Ages 12, 13, & 14 (Born 1/1/2010 & 12/31/2012)

Tournaments
Optional tournaments will be available most Sundays from December to March. Registration and payments will be available on our website. More info to come as season begins.
Wrestling Gear & Spirit Wear
The singlet & compression store will be open until 11/27/2024. All orders will be shipped to the club and distributed to the kids at practice.

Frequently Asked Questions
My child’s birthday is during the season, what division will they wrestle in?
The cutoff date is Dec 30. If a child turns 11 on Dec 29th, he/she will be considered a Novice for the entire season.
Is practice mandatory?
No, all practices are completely optional but strongly encouraged. Regular attendance helps wrestlers improve their skills, especially as new moves and techniques are introduced. We recommend attending as many practices as possible to get the most out of the program and build confidence on the mat.
Does my wrestler have to attend tournaments?
No, all tournaments are completely optional. We encourage parents to discuss with their coaches whether their wrestler is ready to compete in a tournament. We plan to attend multiple beginners' tournaments, which are highly encouraged for first and second-year wrestlers to gain experience and build confidence.
I'm still deciding whether my child wants to join the club. Can I try a practice before we register?
Yes! Participants are encouraged to try out up to a week of practices before they officially register. Parents must sign and return the Medical Waiver in order to attend practices. Please contact grayslakeyouthwrestlingclub@gmail.com with questions!
2024 - 2025 Season
Welcome to the 2024/2025 Grayslake Youth Wrestling Club Season.
Registration Fee: $190/per Wrestler. There will be a $25 discount for each additional wrestler in your household. Use Discount Code SIBLING for each additional wrestler after the first has been registered.
Other Fees: All participants will need to purchase a USA membership card through IKWF for $60 at https://www.usawmembership.com/login
Registration includes : Up to 4 days a week practice, club t-shirt, and registration to select tournaments.
Register
